LESS GERD Clinical Study of the EndoStim System for Reflux

SOFI is accepting patients for the LESS GERD study to assess the effectiveness of the new EndoStim system.

The LESS GERD clinical study of the EndoStim system is being conducted at multiple healthcare centers across the U.S., and SOFI is excited to be participating. If you suffer from GERD symptoms despite taking daily medication, contact SOFI online or by phone at (303) 788-7700 to be considered for the LESS GERD clinical study.

What Is the EndoStim Neurostimulator System?

The EndoStim system is a new approach to treating heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It’s minimally-invasive and uses cutting edge technology to treat the disease with neurostimulation. The system is a gentle alternative to surgery that keeps your anatomy intact, and reduces the chance of any gastrointestinal side effects from the procedure.

What Is the LESS GERD Clinical Study Evaluating?

The LESS GERD clinical study will be evaluating the safety and efficacy of EndoStim System on acid reflux patients who, despite taking daily medication, are experiencing constant heartburn and regurgitation due to GERD. GERD is caused by stomach acid, or other stomach contents, flowing back into the esophagus, which often occurs because the sphincter between the esophagus and stomach there is weak. When stomach acid refluxes up into the esophagus, it irritates the esophageal lining and causes heartburn.

Most individuals with GERD can be treated successfully with proton pump inhibitor drugs (PPIs). These medications block acid from entering the esophagus. Unfortunately, for 30% of people with GERD, PPIs do not stop the problem long-term.
